“Incognito: The Art of Disguise” October 26 – November 24, 2012
An examination of costume, disguise, and the assumption of “The Other”. Often through the act of ritual and role-playing, costumes serve as a medium in which we act out our inner psychic melodramas as an expression of the persona’s desire to assume an alternate identity. This show takes from various viewpoints, illustrating the functions of these instruments of disguise.
Participating artists include Scott Bluedorn, Andrea Cote, Margaret Farmer, Charles Ly, Christine Lidrbauch, Christian Little, Diana Lives, Lutha Leahy-Miller, Annysa Ng, Maria Pessino, and Kate Petrone.
