For years I worked as an artist’s model which led me to use my body as a subject and a tool. I created drawings, installations, photographs and performances printing with parts of my body, castings of those parts, or cut off hair onto paper, architecture and my own skin. The corporeal body, its facsimile, memory, trace, and replication cycled through the work in a desire to be both seen and disappear.

I created many works from my hair, then added family members’ and friends’ hair, and eventually collected artificial hair. I was particularly drawn to the singularity of its line, and the dual associations with desire and repulsion, loss and regeneration, decoration and display, identity and disguise
